Marine Survey Rates

The cost of a survey is dependent on several factors .  The vessel’s age, its location, the type of vessel it is (sail versus power, it’s condition and also the complexity of its systems must be taken into account when determining the fee.   For that reason I ask you to call so that we can both be clear on the project and its scope.

Pre-purchase, Insurance and Condition & Value surveys include a one hour sea trial.  If the vessel is hauled as part of the survey an inspection of the vessel’s wetted surface and underwater machinery is included in the survey at no additional charge.  However, it is customarily the responsibility of the buyer to pay that cost.  It is not included in the survey.  It is always best to discuss your particular survey needs over the phone in order for us to accurately quote a fee.

Damage surveys are billed by the hour then paid via invoice which is due upon receipt.

Mileage in excess of 75 miles from Vonore, Tennessee is billed at the published IRS business mileage rate (round trip).  My general operating range is within a 200 mile radius of Vonore, Tennessee.  However, I will travel to where the work is, but additional costs may be incurred.

Payment in full is due upon completion of the onboard inspection of the vessel and can be made via; credit card, (Visa, Master Card, Discover & American Express are accepted with a service charge) or via personal check.  The report will not be delivered until full payment has been made.

Survey reports are  e-mailed in PDF format normally within three business days of the onboard inspection completion.
